- Apple TV has shared an intriguing preview of its new series, widow’s bay
- The first three episodes will premiere on April 29.
- widow’s bay follows a skeptical mayor who refuses to believe his city is cursed
widow’s bay In my opinion, it is already shaping up to be one of the best shows on Apple TV. A sneak peek of the new horror comedy series was shared on March 24 and I can’t help but compare it to twin peaks.
The teaser, despite being short, was more than enough to keep my interest. Filmed in a 4:3 aspect ratio like an old VHS, we see a man inviting us around to show us around Widow’s Bay, before walking off into the distance. We follow him for what seems like a long time as upbeat music plays, but something isn’t quite right.
Eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that you can slow down the video at the 0:59 mark, and there’s something lurking beneath the static. See for yourself…

What do we know about Widow’s Bay?
widow’s bay was created by Parks and Recreation writer Katie Dippold, with Hiro Murai directing. Murai is known for his work on HBO Max. Barryas well as for directing music videos for stars like Childish Gambino.
This haunting town is full of secrets and rumors, but its skeptical mayor refuses to believe any claims that the place is cursed. Of course, that’s a recipe for disaster, and in six episodes we’ll find out exactly why he’s wrong.
Apple TV shows have been consistently great, with Rupture and Pluribus be up there with my favorite shows of all time. So seeing them take on a horror comedy like this definitely caught my attention, and I’ll be tuning in as soon as the episodes are released.
They’re giving us a three-episode release on April 29, so if you’re a binge-watcher like me, you can dive right in. The following episodes will be released weekly.
I’m counting the days until I can learn the truth about widow’s bay.
