- Amazon has confirmed when Crime 101 will be released on Prime Video

Amazon has announced the official streaming release date for Crime 101 — and you will be able to see it sooner than you think, because the Wednesday April 1.
The crime thriller, which features Marvel actors Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo among its star-studded cast, only made its theatrical debut on February 13. However, Amazon has now confirmed that the film will be coming to Prime Video in the very near future.

For those who may have missed it: Crime 101 is a largely faithful adaptation of Don Winslow’s acclaimed novel of the same name. In it, Hemsworth plays Mike Davis, an elusive thief who has committed several armed robberies on Route 101 in Los Angeles.

However, when a diamond heist nearly costs him his life, Davis makes plans to pull off one last big heist, enlisting the help of socialite insurance broker Sharon (Halle Berry) to get out of the game for good. Well, as long as he can evade the tenacious Detective Lou Lubesnick (Ruffalo), who has been tracking him for years. Oh, and as long as the violent young criminal known as Ormon (Barry Keoghan) doesn’t thwart Davis’ plans.

Will Crime 101 be available on Prime Video worldwide?
At first glance, one might think so. Crime 101 is an Amazon MGM Studios production, so it should be a safe bet that it will be released on Prime Video, also known as one of the most popular in the world. The best streaming services in each country, right?
Not quite. Amazon led production on the film, but it was only distributed by the e-commerce giant’s entertainment division in North America. Sony Pictures handled that side of things internationally and, with Sony movies debuting on streaming platforms like Netflix in countries like the UK, there’s no guarantee that Crime 101 will premiere on Prime Video worldwide.
It would be strange if an Amazon original movie were released on Netflix, which is one of Prime Video’s biggest rivals. Unless Amazon confirms that Crime 101 will only land on your streaming service in the next few days, we’ll just have to wait until April 1 to find out for sure.
