While presiding over a meeting at the NADRA headquarters in Islamabad, the Home Minister said that immediate identification of those who illegally obtained Pakistani citizenship must be ensured and such individuals must be removed from the national database.
Naqvi noted that NADRA services had improved significantly in the last two years and directed NADRA to introduce more modern services for public convenience. The minister stated that NADRA’s modern offices should be built on its own land and not in rented buildings.
On the occasion, it was reported that NADRA had taken several measures to improve service delivery and that millions of identity documents of deceased persons had been cancelled.
A period of thirty days had been set to resolve the issues related to the identity document. With the cooperation of the PTA, mobile SIM cards issued in the names of deceased persons were blocked.

According to immigration officials, 40 Afghan prisoners were deported and transferred to Afghan authorities at the Torkham border.

Officials said the repatriation was being carried out in phases in line with government policy. In the first phase, Afghan prisoners would be deported, while in the second phase, Afghan nationals residing illegally in the country would be repatriated.
The deportation process had been suspended since February 26 due to tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Similarly, bilateral trade between the two countries has been suspended since October 12, 2025, amid ongoing tension in relations.
