José Andrés, American chef, gave an interview to People where he talked about Jennifer Garner’s work in the midst of the wildfires in Los Angeles
He is the owner of the World Central Kitchen organization, which aims to provide food to victims in times of crisis or tragedy.
The actress joined him and his team to deliver meals from kitchens and food trucks to victims and those in need of help.
“She lost a friend [and] She was there like one more. It feels like she was my friend since childhood, and we just met, we barely met, and there she was. “I didn’t have to tell her what to do, because she will always find something to do on her own,” he explained.
She added that she had been “giving hugs to so many people” while delivering meals. “I think it’s almost like a psychological concern that I don’t think anyone realizes, but it’s very deep and very important.”
“All those who were able to stay even for an hour, for me, are incredible people, because they don’t have to,” Andrés continued, “some are suffering the consequences of the fire, but there are [here] they are. And they don’t do it where there are cameras, they do it where there is no one, and that makes it very special.”
On January 17, the Los Angeles County medical examiner confirmed that 27 deaths had occurred so far due to the wildfires.
