Ubisoft has confirmed that division 3The roadmap is completely planned out, suggesting that fans need not worry about the game’s development following recent studio changes.
Earlier this year, the game’s executive producer, Julian Gerighty, left Massive Entertainment to join EA and work on the Battlefield franchise, and Ubisoft said at the time that the game’s development would not be affected.
“While he will be missed, his brand will live on at Massive and we will continue to bring our players the world he has participated in for years to come,” Ubisoft said. “Our teams who built this world with Julian are still here, carrying it forward with an ambitious and unchanged commitment to the future of division 2, The Division 2: Survivors, The resurgence of divisionand division 3“.

Now, in an interview with Games Industry.biz, senior producer Fredrik Brönjemark also weighed in to ease fans’ concerns, confirming that the game’s roadmap has already been fully planned.
“We are operating and executing the roadmap that has been planned and secured for some time,” Brönjemark said.
“Julián’s departure is not a distraction. We are happy for him and obviously sad to see him go. He was a friend. But as far as division 3 “We have our future and our roadmap that is already secure, and we know exactly where we are going and exactly what we want to do.”
division 2 Creative director Yannick Banchereau also spoke about the future of the series and believes “without a doubt” that it will continue for another decade.
“It’s about having happy players and a thriving community,” Banchereau said. “That is the main goal. If we achieve that, we will eventually be able to grow the player base and have a strong and prosperous community when division 3 release and continue growth from there. That’s really what we see in front of us.
“Now we have Resurgencewhich will be a big part of that, we’re also inviting a new audience into the franchise.”
The creative director also revealed that the team considered making division 2 free-to-play, but “it never made sense”, explaining that it was “very clear that the model we currently have works very well with the current game.”
Switching to a free-to-play model would also require Ubisoft to implement big changes to the game, but Banchereau explained that the team is “protecting our players’ experience and the way we monetize, the way we do business.”
“We are realistic about how this works and at the end of the day, for our game to continue to grow we need to generate revenue,” he said. “But we always want to make sure we do it in a way that’s respectful of our players. Free-to-play wouldn’t necessarily violate that, but you would need to adapt and make some changes. So far, we haven’t really seen the need to do that.”
division 3 It was announced back in 2023, but it doesn’t have a release date yet. Meanwhile, Ubisoft has released The resurgence of divisiona free game now available on mobile devices.
