Michael B. Jordan is riding the crest of a wave after his recent Academy Award win, and Netflix is hoping his involvement in its upcoming animated film will give him a boost. KPop Demon Hunters-Increased audience style.

Considered a buddy comedy, Interchanged follows Ollie, a small woodland creature who spends his time foraging, sleeping and playing…oh, and evading the clutches of his sworn enemy Ivy, a majestic bird with the voice of Ted LassoTemple of Juno.

However, one day, during a routine encounter between the pair, they fall into a mysterious purple flower pod and end up swapping bodies. Forced to work together to reverse the effects of whatever caused this. strange friday-As a change, Ollie and Ivy must put aside their differences if they want to not only succeed, but also survive the countless dangers that await them on their journey.
It goes without saying, but Swapped is a far cry from Jordan’s Academy Award-winning turn in his most recent film. That multi-award-winning big screen project: Ryan Coogler sinners – was a period drama of supernatural horror that placed black history, culture, and music at the forefront. The child friendly InterchangedSo, it couldn’t be more different from the live-action movie in which Jordan played twins Stack and Smoke.
Does Swapped have any chance of repeating the success of KPop Demon Hunters?

Never say never, but I really doubt it.
Based on its first trailer, Interchanged seems to be a run-of-the-mill family movie that, like in your dreams, Thelma the unicornand many of Netflix’s other animated offerings, will find an audience, albeit not a particularly large one. So while he has the star power of people like Jordan, I’d be surprised if he came close to matching the 325+ million views he KPop Demon Hunters has accumulated since its launch in June 2025.
To be fair to Interchangedhardly deserves to be compared to the cultural giant that was KPop Demon Hunters.
Granted, no one expected last year’s most unexpected hit to be the multi-award-winning, record-breaking Netflix global phenomenon that it was. However, it ended up having all the right ingredients to defy expectations and be that one-in-a-million film that few turn out to be. Really, KPop Demon Hunters It was a lightning-in-a-bottle moment that we may never see again.
So, yes, Interchanged can be seen by children of a certain age, but it will be almost impossible for it to be successful in the way that KPop Demon Hunters did. And, hey, if I end up being horribly wrong about his chances, so be it.
