Ryan Gosling has surprised fans with the latest turn of his career after the huge box office success of his film. Ave Maria Project.
Gosling had decided to star in Universal Pictures’ untitled project, directed by Oscar-winning duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Everything everywhere and at the same time).
The film, billed as a “funny sci-fi action comedy with a big heart,” was due to go into production this summer in Los Angeles, backed by a multimillion-dollar tax credit from California.
Gosling’s casting was celebrated as a major victory, especially after his worldwide box office triumph in Ave Maria Project.
But in a dramatic turn, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Eva Mendes’ partner left the project.
After the tax credit, the production was unable to change its filming dates and Gosling’s busy schedule could not accommodate the dates it already includes. tough guys with Will Ferrell and Star Wars: Starfighter.
The Daniels continue to direct and produce under their Playgrounds banner, with Jonathan Wang producing.
Gosling’s departure, however, has left fans wondering who will replace him.
