Prince Harry is focused on one key objective, whether his return to the United Kingdom receives an invitation from King Charles or not: the safety of his children.
The Duke of Sussex has made it clear from the beginning that he does not feel safe enough to bring his wife, Meghan, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back to the United Kingdom after their police protection was unceremoniously removed.
There was a report suggesting that Harry is expecting an invitation to Sandringham this summer along with an “automatic” security detail for him and his family. Harry will return to the UK for a promotional event related to the Invictus Games in Birmingham and will attend an annual WellChild Award ceremony.
According to a friend quoted by Sunday schedule Harry would “love” to accept the invitation extended to him. Although, The Mirror reports that that’s not an indication that Harry is dropping hints that he needs one.
While Harry isn’t opposed to the idea, the schedules are aligned, but he won’t go out of his way to ask for one. He is focused on the risk assessment verdict that is expected to be announced this year.
The update comes after royal commentators were unhappy with the implication that the King should extend the invitation to Harry.
Additionally, a friend of Charles was quick to respond to the report that if Harry “really wishes” to see his father, then it would be best if his side “allowed such matters to be discussed privately.”
