KARACHI:
The Sindh Rangers arrested four suspected members of a criminal street gang in Karachi, according to a press release issued by the force headquarters on April 6.
The statement said the suspects (Saeed ur Rehman alias Kumandan, Sabir alias Sheena, Ikram alias Akro and Akash alias Punjabi) were arrested during an intelligence operation at Gulshan Ghazi in Baldia town. They are accused of being involved in “multiple incidents of theft and street crimes” in Baldia Town, Gulshan Ghazi and 24 Market.
According to the Rangers, Saeed ur Rehman, “the head of the Kumandan gang,” was responsible for “providing weapons for the robberies.” At the same time, other members committed crimes under his supervision. The statement added that “the looted money was taken to the gang leader, who would then distribute it among the members.”
Authorities said the suspects “can be clearly seen on CCTV footage” recorded during the incidents and described them as “habitual criminals” who had previously been arrested and jailed.
