Battlefield 6 It may have launched late last year, but that doesn’t mean the developers at Battlefield Studios have stopped working, putting a host of live service updates and even more on the way.
In a new interview with TechRadar Gaming, the game’s audio team revealed some of the work they do behind the scenes.
“The work never stops,” said technical sound designer Gonçalo Tavares.

“There is, of course, the feeling that the game has been released, with all the hype and all that, but the work continues,” added senior audio director David Jegutidse. “It’s not that it doesn’t stop. Of course, we take some vacations and stuff, but it continues.”
“We don’t just add new things,” he said. “We constantly polish what we think needs polishing. […] It’s almost like we haven’t shipped yet. In some cases, I like that live service thing. Once the game is in the players’ hands, the soundscape changes. It’s not a different game, but it is. “Players play very differently than developers.”
“In the old days, when we started in the industry, it was like you had the sprint to finish,” senior audio director Mari Saastamoinen Minto began, “and then it was that.”
On the contrary, he explained that “today I see it more as a marathon.”
Last year, the team’s great effort was recognized with Battlefield 6 taking home the award for best audio design at The Game Awards 2025.
“It was a great team effort, the team worked very hard and we also had a lot of new members. It was great,” Saastamoinen Minto recalled. “For some people it was their first game and there was a lot of excitement.”
“I got up at three in the morning watching the awards,” Tavares recalls. “I had no hope. I was just enjoying the show, and when they revealed it, I was like, ‘What?’ “My wife was asleep and I was like whispering to her.”
If you’re interested in hearing the award-winning sounds the team produced for you, Battlefield 6 It is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.
