- Walmart’s new Google TV 4K streamer spotted in the wild, possibly by mistake
- Equipped with quad-core Cortex-A55, 4K and Dolby Atmos support
- Expected for May, priced at around $30.
Walmart appears to have revealed its latest budget streaming device, the Onn 4K Streaming Stick, although perhaps more by accident than design. There hasn’t been an official announcement, but one eagle-eyed Redditor spotted the device on some store shelves.
According to Justlook361 (via Android Headlines), which posted photos of the boxed transmitter, someone in the store may have made a mistake: there was only one box on the shelf and “it was mixed in with a bunch of sticks” instead of being stored in its own shelf section. That fits with speculation that the device will launch in May; The store may run out of stock early by mistake.
In terms of specs, you get a lot for very little money – the $30 price tag gets you dual-band Wi-Fi, 4K and Dolby Atmos with support for Google Cast and voice control via Gemini for TV. It looks like an attractive Chromecast replacement and could be one of the best streaming devices for budget buyers in the US.

Onn 4K Streaming Stick: Key Features
The box contains the 4K streaming device, an 11.8-inch HDMI extender for awkward spaces, a remote control with two included AA batteries, and an AC adapter with a 4.88-foot cable. The specifications listed are a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor, ARM Mali G57 GPU, 2GB of RAM with 8GB of storage, and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
That’s a decent upgrade over the previous versions, which were 1080p instead of 4K and had 1GB of RAM instead of 2GB.
At $30, this streaming device is a little more expensive than existing models, which cost around $20 for the Full HD streaming device, but of course it’s a better spec with higher resolution. And 30 dollars is not expensive at all.
We don’t have an official release date yet, but since branches seem to be in stock, it won’t be long before the new streaming device is official. And it may become more widely available before the official launch: In 2023 and 2024, Walmart stores were selling streaming devices weeks before their official launch.
