The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has announced a major expansion of its ‘Fast Track’ passport service, with the aim of improving public access to expedited passport processing services.
Originally offered in just seven major cities (Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta), the service has now expanded to 47 locations across the country.
The latest expansion adds 26 new cities to the Fast Track service network, bringing the total to 47.
The newly included cities are Attock, Haripur, Chakwal, Batkhela, Sargodha, Swabi, Bhalwal, Nowshera, Hafizabad, Karak, Mianwali, Mansehra, Bhakar, Muzaffarabad, Kohat, Mirpur (AJK), DI Khan, Bagh, Swat, Rawalakot, Abbottabad . , Kotli, Bannu, Sudhanoti, Hangu and Bhimber.
This expansion is part of an ongoing effort to make the passport application process faster and more accessible for citizens in these regions.
The Directorate General has directed the zonal heads to ensure that the newly added locations start offering Fast Track services without delay.
Additionally, the Director (Databases) has been tasked with updating the Passport Processing System (PPS) to reflect these changes and include the new cities in the Fast Track category.
The notification, which was issued by Deputy Director (Policy-I) Hafiz Abdul Nasir, was distributed to all relevant authorities, including the Postmaster General of Pakistan, to ensure proper implementation and widespread awareness of the expanded service.
With this measure, the General Directorate aims to provide more efficient passport processing, significantly reducing waiting times for applicants in the newly added cities.
