- The April 2026 update is rolling out for Google Pixels
- Includes several bug fixes, including crashes in games and banking apps.
- There are no new features; for them, you’ll probably have to wait until June.
The latest Google Pixel patch has arrived, but this April 2026 version is much smaller than the March one. Last month, Google released a Pixel Drop full of new features, but this month, all we get are bug fixes.
Still, some of the fixes address potentially very annoying bugs, including those that cause certain games, banking apps, and Quick Share to crash during file transfers.
In addition to fixing several bugs, this April 2026 update also fixes an issue where the Backup menu was missing from the system settings under certain conditions, and another issue where the quick search bar is sometimes missing from the home screen under certain conditions.

Therefore, if you have experienced any of these errors, you should download this update as soon as possible to resolve them. But even if you haven’t encountered these issues, it’s generally a good idea to get updates like this as they could prevent these errors from occurring in the future and may also fix other unlisted issues.
The update will roll out starting today, but it’s a gradual rollout, so you may not have access to it for about a week. Just keep an eye on your phone to see when it appears.
And if you’re wondering when the next big update for Pixels will arrive, complete with new features, you should look to June as that’s when we expect to see Android 17.
