There is no one way to get into professional wrestling.

Fans have learned over the past few decades that superstars can come from anywhere. The traditional route is to go through a wrestling school and then figure out what is needed in independent promotions. Some of the other ways include being discovered through bodybuilding competitions and other sports that really have nothing to do with wrestling.

Professional wrestler Scarlett Bordeaux told Pak Gazette Digital in a recent interview that she became involved after falling in love with the sport when she was young.

“I worked at a movie theater my first job and some of my coworkers were big independent wrestling fans,” he explained. “They went to AAW every month. I didn’t know what the hell they were talking about when they talked about going to wrestling every month, but one day I thought, let me go with you. I don’t want to go to prom, so let me go with you instead of going to prom.

“I loved it. I thought it was amazing. And within a few months of going to these indie shows, I was like, I kind of want to do this. I feel like I can do this. I asked if I could help set up chairs, take out the trash, anything I could do to be around. I just approached the promoter of a show, and then a few months later, it was December, Christmas, he asked me if I had a sexy Santa costume because they wanted to give me a hammer. I didn’t know what a piledriver was, but I said yes, and I took the hammer. piledriver, I went back and they threw a bucket of snow at me and said welcome to the business and I was hooked.

From there, Bordeaux worked his way up in the business. He appeared in several independent promotions and won a few championships along the way.

PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING STAR TREVOR LEE SIGNS DEAL WITH MLW, TALKS GOALS WITH THE COMPANY

She and her husband, a professional wrestler known as Killer Kross, came to WWE in 2019 and had their second season in 2022. Their contracts expired in 2025 and they both signed with Major League Wrestling (MLW), where they both currently perform.

The road to success is always full of obstacles.

Bordeaux described one of the most serious ones he took during his career.

“There was a wrestler named Keith Walker. This guy, I mean he was probably 6-foot-5, he was a big guy, a big guy. It was a choke. And when I tell you my knees hit my forehead, that’s how hard I doubled over,” he told Pak Gazette Digital. “Everyone thought it was great. They wanted it again the next month.

“The next month I did it. I felt like a sting from it. I just felt like the buzzing through my leg and I limped briefly and they said, you’ll never get that again. That was absolutely the worst hit I’ve ever taken.”
