Love is strong… but tour schedules? Brutal.
Demi Lovato and her husband Jordan Lutes (aka Jutes) are about to reach a milestone in their relationship: their first wedding anniversary, and unfortunately, they’ll be celebrating it miles apart.
Jutes, who is preparing for his European tour in May and his North American tour in August, admitted the timing couldn’t be worse.
“It’s one of those things that makes us sad when we talk about it,” he shared. “So we thought, ‘We won’t think about that yet.’ It’s going to be difficult, there’s no way around it.”
Romantic? Yes. Ideal? Not even close.
Still, he doesn’t let distance win. “We’re just going to pretend,” he joked. “As soon as the tour is over and we’re together, we’re going to celebrate and that’s going to be amazing. It’s part of the job and we’re going to have to FaceTime a lot and figure it out. We’ll get through it.”
Between shows, Jutes is at the top with his new single Disassociate and preparing what he calls his “biggest” tour yet, largely funded by fans.
“The people who come to the show are by far the most important thing to me,” he said. “Nothing is going to replace showing up and a group of fans singing your songs.”
And Demi? He remains his biggest fan.
“She believes in me more than I believe in myself,” he said. “We love to see each other win; seeing her win makes me feel better than seeing myself win.”
As for the marriage rumors being “harsh”? Jutes doesn’t believe it: “Should we pretend to fight or something?”
