Out of nowhere and without much fanfare, Zynga has released a new free game borderlands mobile game
Mobile borderlands was suddenly released by the mobile gaming company on Thursday of this week, somewhat randomly, and is developed by Star Wars: Hunters studio, NaturalMotion.
The spin-off game, which Zynga calls a “limited-time trial,” doesn’t have a fancy title and is currently only available on the App Store for iPhone users in the U.S. I tried to download the game in the U.K., but ran into a region-locking issue.

“We are always exploring ways to introduce borderlands to new audiences,” a Zynga spokesperson said in a statement to IGN.
“Zynga’s NaturalMotion studio is currently conducting a limited-time trial for an untitled product. borderlands mobile project, with Gearbox providing creative guidance on the franchise’s design, history and lore. We hope players enjoy this new borderlands experience and we look forward to your comments.”
No trailer or gameplay has been shared for Mobile borderlands right now, but based on screenshots from the App Store, it appears to feature characters from the broader scope. borderlands franchise, such as Tiny Tina, Moxxi, Psycho and Claptrap.
We know that the game is an “action-packed looter shooter” like the previous one. borderlands games, introduces Vault Hunters and “brings the signature mayhem, art style, and weapon-slinging adventure to mobile for the first time.”
“Search for legendary loot and boost your skills to customize your gameplay,” the description says. “Use everything from guns to rocket launchers to make your enemies wish they hadn’t crossed your path! Master a devastating action game that’s been fully optimized for mobile devices. Battle skags, bandits, and bosses as you battle through a variety of exciting mission types, including Campaign Missions, Tower of Terror, and Circle of Killing.”
We’ll have to wait and see if the game remains active and if it spreads to Android devices and other regions.
