- Expect the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 on April 16
- Vlogging Camera Has Been Long Rumored
- Insta360 will also launch Luna soon
The build-up to the launch of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has been long and busy, but we now have an official date for the vlogging camera’s unveiling, while more leaks appear for a rival Insta360 device.
DJI has posted a teaser clip on social media telling us that the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 will launch on Thursday, April 16. The reveal begins at 12pm GMT, which is equivalent to 4am PT / 7am ET / 9pm AEST in Australia, so mark your calendars accordingly.
The camera isn’t mentioned by name, but we get a pretty good glimpse of it, with the tagline “the world in my pocket.” In Japanese, the motto translates as “the world expands,” which may hint at an expansion of the camera sensor’s capabilities.

As Notebookcheck points out, this suggests a wider native focal length on the new camera, along with support for the Open Gate standard, as offered by the iPhone 17 Pro, meaning more sensor area can be used for filming.

The official announcement hasn’t stopped leaks of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 from appearing. Regular tipster Igor Bogdanov (via Notebookcheck) has posted more renders of the camera in advance, showing its modified design, with two additional console buttons.
Among the other upgrades that have been suggested are improvements to the 1-inch sensor that allow in more light and improve the quality of photos and videos, and an additional camera, a potential possibility for a Pro version of the device.
However, DJI could immediately have competition for its new camera. We are once again indebted to Igor Bogdanov for the leak, this time for the Insta360 Luna: it is described as a “more interesting” version of what DJI is about to unveil.
The Insta360 Luna is more or less official, as it has already been announced, but we don’t know exactly when it will go on sale or what specifications we can expect. However, for consumers, more choice and more competition are certainly welcome.
