Lucy Liu opened up about a scary health experience she went through many years ago and shared how a medical mistake changed the way she views her health today.
The actress said that in the early 2000s she found a lump in her breast and went to see a doctor.
At the time, she didn’t think much about it, but things quickly became terrifying.
She, however, said the doctor felt the lump and told her it was cancer without giving her proper follow-up tests like an ultrasound or mammogram.
Therefore, surgery was quickly organized to remove it. Lucy later discovered that the lump wasn’t cancer at all.
The star went on to say that that moment taught her the importance of speaking up for herself as she also admitted that she didn’t ask for a second opinion even though a friend suggested it because she trusted the first doctor.
Now, looking back, he says he doesn’t live with regrets, but sees it as a lesson to make better decisions in the future.

Lucy is now working on cancer awareness campaigns and says early detection can really save lives.
