Queen Camilla writes personal letter as Harry and Meghan set to leave Montecito

Buckingham Palace released a special letter from Queen Camilla amid reports that royal aides and the Sussex camp have been in contact to resolve some issues ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to Australia.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will depart on Tuesday and there has been some “apprehension” surrounding the matter. However, the Palace is now making an effort to refocus its attention on the royals, having shared a letter written by the Queen Consort.

The Queen sent her regards to singer and actress Dame Elaine Paige, who received a huge honor this year.

“I was very happy to hear that you will receive this year’s Special Award at the 2026 Olivier Awards,” the message read. “I can think of no more fitting recipient: over the decades of his career, his talent, commitment and generosity of spirit have made him a truly defining figure in musical theatre.”

He noted that Elaine “has simply brought great joy to untold numbers of people around the world and we are all indebted to you.”

Camilla also highlighted the kind gesture Elaine made when serenading a patient a few years ago while witnessing the scene while calling her a star.

King Charles’ wife has been a staunch defender of the monarch during this difficult period in which the royal family is facing a series of scandals and controversies. Camilla has been offering support whenever needed.

Although the letter was to honor a distinguished artist, it also served as a distraction for the royals, who are reportedly worried about what would unfold with the Australian visit.
