- Oppo has shown a first look at its latest flagship phone, the Find X9 Ultra
- Its design is directly inspired by the Hasselblad X2D
- Key features include twin 200MP cameras and a 10x zoom
I’ve already had plenty of hands-on time with the Oppo Find X9 Ultra ahead of its full reveal on April 21; Be sure to stay tuned for my in-depth look at its camera skills then, but in the run-up to the launch, I’m allowed to share a first look at the flagship camera phone, and I think it’s a stunner.
But I’m biased; The Find X9 Ultra’s design is directly inspired by Oppo’s long-term partnership with Hasselblad, and specifically one of my favorite cameras, the incredible Hasselblad
This isn’t a generic phone like most other models, but one with a classic leather finish and a sharp, light-catching metal edge, complete with orange accents. It really feels like a baby Hasselblad, and it’s no slouch in the camera department either.

Focusing on the camera performance, there is no way around the beastly camera module, which is perhaps the only drawback of the design. The result, however, is four lenses spanning focal lengths from 14 to 230mm. This is what Oppo has revealed so far.
The camera phone of all camera phones?
I tested the Oppo Find
Its successor isn’t a simple upgrade, based on the limited information we can reveal so far, so expect it to move even further away from other flagship camera phones as one of the best camera phones.
Oppo has shared a video on YouTube (see below) that opens with a flash from said Hasselblad camera and then reveals the ‘Hasselblad Master Camera System’ of the Find
The trailer confirms that the camera array spans focal lengths from 14 to 230mm, with a maximum aperture of f/1.5 to 3.5.

There will also be an ‘Earth Explorer’ kit, inspired by a limited edition version of the Hasselblad X2D II, and an optional 400mm telephoto lens accessory, which will go beyond the reach of the phone’s 10x optical zoom.
We also get a look at the Find X9 Ultra in another colorway, orange, followed by the trailer’s final tagline “Your next camera.”
The trailer certainly whets the appetite of camera fans, and I look forward to sharing more with you for the phone’s full reveal in just over a week; If you like camera phone technology, the Find X9 Ultra will be worth a look.
