- Leaker Moore’s Law is Dead claims Sony will release three PS6 devices in 2027
- The leaker says that a PS6 “lite”, a PS6 main and a portable will be released at the same time.
- It is also stated that the consoles will cost between $350 and $1,000.
A leaker claimed that Sony will launch its next-generation PlayStation with three devices in 2027, including two consoles and a companion handheld.
This is according to a new YouTube video from Moore’s Law is Dead (MLID), who previously accurately reported on other leaked hardware details, in which he attempted to estimate the price of the next PlayStation hardware following recent PS5 price increases (via GamesRadar).
In the video, MLID claimed that Sony would release a basic PS6, a “lite” model called “PS6 S,” and a portable PS6 at the same time next year.

The main console would reportedly feature an Orion CPU, while the PS6 S and handheld would feature the AMD “Canis” chipset.
In terms of price, it is estimated that each device could range between $350 and $1000, with the PS6 handheld, which appears to be like the PS Portal, being the cheapest of the bunch.
While MLID did not offer specific pricing leaks, the YouTuber predicts that due to the rising cost of components, RAM shortages, and rising tariffs, the price of each console could change in the future.
MLID estimated that the “PS6 S” could cost between $349 and $549, the PS6 handheld console between $499 and $699, and the main PS6 console between $699 and $999.
This is all just speculation at this point, but given Sony’s recent price increases for the PS5, PS5 Pro, and PS Portal, the next-gen console and its counterparts may be a bit more expensive than the PS5 launching in 2020.
The company announced the massive price changes last month, citing “continued pressures on the global economic landscape” for its decision to increase the price of the PS5 by $100 and the PS5 Pro by $150.
As of April 2, the PS5 now costs $649.99/£569.99, down from $549.99/£479.99. The PS5 Digital Edition now costs $599.99/£519.99 instead of $499.99/£429.99, and the PS5 Pro is now priced at $899.99/£789.99, down from $749.99/£699.99.
Meanwhile, PS Portal now costs $249.99 / £219.99, down from $199.99 / £199.99.
