Michigan native Jamie Ding makes it to the Top 5 after his 23rd consecutive Jeopardy! win.
Danger! Champion Jamie Ding is set to break the Top 5 consecutive games won by any contestant on the longest-running game show.
Ding earned his 23rd consecutive win on Tuesday, April 14, to tie for fifth place with Mattea Roach, who has 23 wins in 2022.
Ding took home $16,400 on Tuesday to increase his 23-day gambling bankroll to $644,000.
He remains in sixth place on the regular season money list behind fellow New Jerseyan Cris Pannullo, accumulating $748,286 with 21 wins in 2022.
On Tuesday’s episode, Ding’s opponents were Iain Carpenter, a health care veteran from Mahomet, Illinois, and Stephanie Rice-Hoffner, a former car wash technology manager from New York.
Ding had already secured the win by the time Final Jeopardy arrived. He had $18,400 to Carpenter’s $5,400.
While Rice-Hoffner finished the game in the hole with -$800, ending her streak.
