President Donald Trump had a recorded message for college football fans tuning into ESPN to watch the national championship game between Notre Dame and Ohio State on Monday night.
Trump was inaugurated today as the 47th president of the United States. Although he has attended national championships as president before, he was unable to attend because it was his first day back in the White House. He still seemed to have the game on his mind.

“Hello to my great fellow Americans. This has been a historic and exciting day for our country. Over the past few years, our people have suffered greatly, but from now on we are going to take America back and make it safer, richer and safer. prouder than ever,” Trump said.
“We will have a nation full of compassion, strength and exceptionalism. Through our power and strength, we will stop wars and bring peace to our world. We will be respected again and we will be admitted again, admired as we have not been by many, “We will put America first and in doing so, we will make America great again.”

Trump touted the enthusiasm he has seen across the country since winning the election over former Vice President Kamala Harris. He also had a message for players competing in the game.
“In less than three months since the election, you have already seen it happen. You can feel the excitement and you can see the confidence and spirit returning to our nation. Together we will take our county to new and glorious heights. The America’s golden age has just begun.
“To all the players and fans watching tonight, I know it’s been a long and difficult journey. It’s been a long season, but you have two tremendous teams, you come into the game and you go out and fight hard and fair and let the best team win. And I’m going to enjoy watching it. Thank you and good night.”
Vice President JD Vance must have been happy at halftime when Ohio State led the game, 21-7.
