- The Dyson Supersonic Travel is a compact and lightweight hair dryer
- It is compatible with the same accessories as full-size Supersonic dryers.
- It automatically adapts to the voltage of the country you are visiting.
Dyson has launched a new travel-size hair dryer that’s small enough to keep in your hand luggage and safe to use anywhere in the world. The Dyson Supersonic Travel is 32% lighter and 25% smaller than the original Dyson Supersonic (launched in 2016), but still offers smart heat control to prevent damage.
If you already have a Dyson Supersonic or Supersonic Nural hair dryer, you’ll be pleased to know that the new travel-size model is compatible with the same accessories, so you won’t have to struggle without your favorite diffuser, wide-tooth comb or straightening nozzle.
The accessories are held in place with magnets so you can snap them on and off, and your Supersonic dryer will recognize which one is currently in place. When we tested the original Supersonic, we were particularly impressed with the Flyaway attachment, which tames loose hairs with the same technology as the Dyson Airwrap.

Voltage can be an issue when traveling with electrical appliances, but the Dyson Supersonic Travel automatically adapts to the country you’re visiting, so you can take it around the world without worrying about damaging the motor or experiencing poor performance.
During styling, the Dyson Supersonic Travel measures the temperature of the airflow 100 times per second to ensure your hair doesn’t overheat, which can cause damage over time—a welcome change from hotel hair dryers, which tend to blast hot air onto your hair with wheeze or bombard it with heat.
The Dyson Supersonic Travel is now available to buy direct from Dyson for £249.99 (around $340 / AU$470). The company has not yet announced dates for its international launch.
