Christina Applegate has broken her silence following reports of a recent hospitalization, assuring her fans that she is recovering and is as determined as ever.
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” the actress wrote on Instagram on Monday.
“Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong girl and I’m getting stronger and better every day. I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back soon with more to say.”
The post comes after reports began circulating that Applegate had been hospitalized in late March, and media reported that those close to her were deeply concerned.
The 54-year-old did not specify the nature of her latest health episode, but her MS diagnosis, which she made public in August 2021, has been a constant part of her life since then.
Applegate has been notably open about her journey with multiple sclerosis, both through her 2026 memoir You with sad eyes and the podcast he hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS.
His last acting role was in the comedy-thriller series. Dead to me, a job he finished when his diagnosis was still new territory.
The third season was already in production when he found out and spoke candidly about how difficult that period was.
He used a wheelchair to get to the set, was “sleeping all the time” and had to call the cast and crew to tell them what he was dealing with.
“I had to call everyone and tell them, ‘I have kids with multiple sclerosis. What the fuck!'” he said. Variety in 2022.
Best known for her long-running role in Married… with childrenthat kept running Fox For 11 seasons, from 1987 to 1997, Applegate retired from acting.
His message on Monday was brief, but it had the same directness that has defined how he has handled his illness throughout, without sugarcoating or backing down.
