A suspect who kidnapped a child from a hospital was arrested with the help of Safe City cameras, Express News reported.
According to the Safe City spokesperson, the suspect who took the child from the hospital was arrested. Using Safe City cameras, the boy was recovered within hours in Gujranwala.
The boy’s father had reported that an unknown person had kidnapped the boy from the hospital.
Upon receiving the complaint, police began searching for the suspect using footage from Safe City cameras. By tracing the images, they identified the suspect.
Cameras showed the suspect riding a bicycle while holding the newborn. The video evidence was shared with the relevant police, who acted quickly and arrested the suspect.
Within hours, police successfully found the newborn and returned him safely to his father.
Previously, seven-year-old Sarim had been raped and murdered, according to the police surgeon’s first reports. The revelation emerged in the case of Sarim, a resident of an apartment building in northern Karachi, who went missing on January 7.
Anil Haider of SSP’s Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) confirmed that the police report revealed that Sarim was raped and his neck bone was also found broken. The report states that Sarim was strangled to death.
Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed confirmed the initial report and stated that while the chemical examination report is still pending, the preliminary report suggests that Sarim was raped and murdered by strangulation.
Sarim was a student at a local seminary and disappeared on January 7 while returning home from the madrasa with his brother. Her father filed a missing complaint with the Bilal Colony police, leading to a search operation in and around the apartment.
