On Instagram on Tuesday, the morning show The star addressed the backlash that followed her recent post about the “AI revolution,” clarifying that her interest stems from being a “curious human” rather than a corporate spokesperson.
While he acknowledged that his original comments certainly got people talking, he noted that his children are already learning about these tools and that he is seeing AI impact all business sectors, from “vibe coding” founders to traditional industries.
The Oscar-winning actress had previously sparked controversy by warning that women were 25 percent less likely to use AI than men, even though their jobs were three times more likely to be automated.
This sparked a fierce reaction from his followers who expressed concerns about the theft of intellectual property, the environmental impact of data centers, and the potential of computers to replace human creativity.
In her latest response, Witherspoon admitted that these concerns are valid and stated that she understands concerns regarding job safety and the environment.
He also expressed his own reservations about the rise of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), making it clear that he does not believe computers should ever replace humanity.
Despite the rejection, Witherspoon remains committed to her “learn with me” approach, seeing technological change as inevitable for the future of film.
She previously said Glamor that while people may lament the change, it is already here, although she believes that physical manual construction and human ingenuity will always remain the highest forms of art.
The actress even shared some of the specific tools she currently uses, including AI Assistant, search platform Perplexity, and purchasing agent Vetted AI, as part of her effort to stay informed.
