“Hullabaloo” is one of those words that’s fun to say, but like all words these days, it straddles the line between giddy and annoying: fun if you’re the one doing the meowing, less fun if you’re trying to do a word search while someone meows.
WHOOP is, of all of them, the most acceptable and something people can do as a token of appreciation at a concert or at the end of a play, but the rest are the kind of activities that would get an adult arrested, or at least stared at.
Beyond the enjoyable word search, I was also pleased to see the return of the unnecessarily long spangram after a series of sensible questions, even if they require an apostrophe.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Thursday, April 23, game #781)
- THUNDER
- UNDERWORLD
- MARRIAGE
- LOVE
- HARVEST
- WISDOM
