- A Pixel boot loop bug is apparently about to be fixed

There’s good news and bad news to report in terms of Google Pixel phone bugs, with one frustrating issue receiving much-needed attention from Google engineers, while another issue is seemingly just getting started.
First, the good news: Google is testing a fix for the bug that left certain phones stuck in a boot loop for the past few weeks, an issue that seemed to start affecting users just after the March 2026 Pixel drop.
According to numerous reports, several Pixel models were unable to boot up properly, but simply rebooted over and over again. The only real option to escape the cycle has been to do a hard reset and start over, which is not ideal.

Now, a user has posted an update (via Android Authority) that is “definitely positive news,” saying there is a “potential beta update to fix the issue” that will return the phone’s functionality without a hard reset. It’s not widely available yet, but it could be soon, and it suggests Google has figured out what went wrong.
More problems appear
Just as there is light at the end of the tunnel for one bug, another is causing frustration for users. As Android Authority reports, there are now a substantial number of complaints about slow and sluggish performance on Pixel phones, which appear to be related to the March and April updates.
While the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 phones appear to be the most commonly affected, several different models are mentioned in the dispatches, such as the Google Pixel 6 which was released in 2021.
Complaints mention “really bad lags” and keyboards that freeze when typing. So far we don’t have anything official from Google except a request for more information, and there doesn’t seem to be a reliable fix yet either (aside from a hard reset).
Having issues like these constantly popping up isn’t a good idea for Google, and these are issues we’ve seen before with Pixel phones as well. Let’s hope the latest issue can be resolved quickly and the Pixels can remain bug-free.
