Prince Harry appears confident in their efforts as he believes a great opportunity is opening up for them in the United Kingdom, as King Charles continues his state visit to the United States.
The Duke of Sussex, who is due to return to the UK for the upcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham, is making sure his wife is on board with the new game plan, sources have revealed.
Harry “completely trusts that he assured his father that they will bring Archie and Lili to finally enjoy some quality time with him,” sources told Closer. However, they noted that Meghan “still has doubts” about traveling back to the UK after all these years.
However, Harry maintains that if he is to return to the royal fold, it has to be with Meghan, otherwise it would seem “quite strange.” He insists this is a “non-negotiable” part of the plan even if Meghan is unwilling to live in Britain or immerse herself in it completely. You can travel more frequently but I would have to be by your side.
Sources added that it makes “perfect sense” for Harry to find a property near Windsor that they can use as a “rest pad” when they are in town and that would eventually be something Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could inherit.
It would allow Sussex children to get closer to their British heritage and royal relatives, further strengthening their ties to the monarchy.
Meghan has “many conditions that must be met” before fully approving the trip, but Harry has taken a clear stance on his presence and support for the UK’s plans.
It remains to be seen how this plays out, as the reconciliation process with King Charles has been put on hold.
