A new application will be introduced that will allow citizens to submit complaints and queries online
ISLAMABAD:
The Directorate of Passports and Immigration has completed a comprehensive review of passport application processing, from submission to issuance, in consultation with IT experts, as part of efforts to modernize the system in line with contemporary requirements.
The review work was completed ahead of an announcement to improve the passport and immigration processing framework, focusing on efficiency, transparency and faster delivery of public services.
The decision was made during an important meeting chaired by the Director General of Immigration and Passports, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, where key reforms aimed at digital transformation were approved.
It was agreed at the meeting that digital complaints centers will be established to ensure quick resolution of public complaints, alongside wider efforts to digitize the immigration and passport system.
Under the planned reforms, a new application will be introduced that will allow citizens to submit complaints and queries online, allowing for faster response times and reducing reliance on manual processes. The initiative aims to improve accessibility and convenience for applicants through technology-driven solutions.
Speaking on the occasion, DG Passport said that the department is committed to providing better facilities to the public through modern technology, adding that work is underway to accelerate plans for 24-hour active digital services.
