- Star Wars Day 2026 is just around the corner
- To celebrate, four Star Wars movies have just joined a major rival to Disney+
- Typically, Disney’s main streamer is the only place you can watch them.
Star Wars Day 2026 is almost here, and ahead of Lucasfilm’s annual May 4 celebration of the iconic galaxy far, far away, four of the franchise’s best films have landed on one of Disney+’s main rivals.
Typically, Disney’s main streamer is the only place you can watch all the Star Wars movies and TV shows. However, the House of Mouse made the surprisingly rare decision to release some of them on another of the world’s best streaming services.
So who is the lucky platform in question? Hulu, also known as Disney+’s sister streamer that is only available in the US.

Granted, Disney was never going to license the Star Wars back catalog to Netflix or Prime Video, so releasing a quartet of movies from the sci-fi brand on the other streamer it owns might not be a huge surprise.
However, the fact that Hulu has become the home of some Star Wars content is It’s important because, like I said, Disney+ is the only place fans have been able to stream the franchise’s various offerings. Those of you who are signed up for Hulu but not Disney+, then, should enjoy these movies while you can, and hey, if you don’t live in the US, you can still stream all the Star Wars movies and TV shows on Disney+.
What Star Wars movies can I watch on Hulu?
Perhaps unsurprisingly, three of the four films that make up the franchise’s original film trilogy. For those who don’t know, they are from 1977. Episode IV: A New Hope80s Episode V: The Empire Strikes Backand 1983 Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
Considering how well-respected this trio is, as well as the fact that they tell a coherent three-part story, it’s obvious that they would be added simultaneously to Hulu’s movie library, but what’s the fourth? It will be a film that will be viewed more positively (at least by critics) than Return of the Jedi.
Okay, what movie is it? 2016 Rogue One: A Star Wars Storywhose 84% critical rating from Rotten Tomatoes is one percentage point higher than Return of the Jedi‘s. (N.B: At this point, it would be remiss of me to point out that Jedi94% audience score is higher than rogue oneis 87%.)
The addition of rogue one along with the aforementioned trio also makes a lot of sense, because its ending leads directly to A new hopeOpening sequence. So if you watched these movies back to back on Hulu, or Disney+, you’ll be able to watch a key part of the Star Wars timeline in chronological order.
