Jake Paul broke his silence after singing sensation Olivia Rodrigo mocked him during his Saturday night live appearance over the weekend.
The 23-year-old musician hosted the NBC iconic sketch show and mocked the YouTuber-turned-boxer for “beating up old men on Netflix,” apparently referencing Jake’s fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson.
During his monologue, Rodrigo reminisced about his childhood projects and joked, “When I was 13, I was on a Disney show called Bizaardvark and we had an incredible cast, which included actor legend Jake Paul.”
She also recalled conversations the two stars had at the time, saying, “And Jake and I always talked about our future. I was like, ‘I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,’ and he was like, ‘Well, one day I really want to beat up the old guys on Netflix.'”
In a 2024 fight broadcast live on Netflix, Jake defeated legend Tyson, 58, in what was widely described as more of a spectacle than an actual fight.
Rodrigo is having a successful music career and Paul has gone from being a social media sensation to being a boxer, so apparently they both achieved their childhood dreams.
The singer said: “And we both did it, hooray!”
Jake turned to X to respond to Rodrigo’s monologue, writing, “We had the vision [crying laughing emoji] I told you you would sell stadiums and then we were both proud of you. [for real].”
Olivia Rodrigo and Jake Paul starred together in the Disney Channel comedy Gallantwhich lasted three seasons from 2013 to 2016.
