RMC Duntroon names Pakistani cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas ‘best overall foreign military cadet’ at passing out parade
Pakistan Army cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas has been declared “the best overall foreign military cadet” by the Royal Military College (RMC) of Australia, the army’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “The Australian RMC, Duntroon has declared Pakistani Army Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas (PMA Long Course 152) as the “Best Overall Foreign Military Cadet” in the passing out parade held at RMC Duntroon, Canberra on 5 May 2026.”
“The award is given to the highest performing foreign military cadet in all facets of training. This is a testament to the highest standards of professionalism, commitment and excellence demonstrated by the young leaders of the Pakistan Army,” the statement said.
The commissioning parade was reviewed by the Chief of the Australian Army, Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, AO DSC. The event was witnessed by members of the diplomatic corps, including the Pakistani high commissioner in Canberra, families of graduating cadets and Australian defense forces officials, he added.

The ISPR said Pakistan and Australia share a long-standing military relationship. Since 2013, seven Pakistan Army officers have served as platoon commanders in the RMC college, while 46 Pakistan Army cadets have graduated from this prestigious institution since 2009.
“This is the 14th occasion when a Pakistani army cadet has been declared the best overall foreign military cadet, including Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed, Tamgha-e-Basalat, who embraced shahadat on September 4, 2020, in North Waziristan district,” the army’s media wing said.
“Lieutenant Nasir Shaheed’s name is also inscribed on the memorial stone at the RMC parade ground, symbolizing the lasting legacy of courage, sacrifice and honor of the brave officers of the Pakistani Army,” the statement concluded.
