May 2026 is shaping up to be a huge month for the horror genre and I’m excited to have so much to look forward to. Among the new movies coming out, Passenger hopes to make a statement when it hits theaters on May 22.

According to a new trailer for the new horror film, “a lot of people had scary experiences” on set, which has definitely upped the fear factor. But horror sets often have spooky experiences around them, such as low voiceThe whole feels tormented.

What other horror movies will be released in May 2026?

Next to PassengerThere are plenty of other movies that will keep horror fans booked and busy all month long. In fact, it’s one of the strongest lineups I’ve seen in a long time and you can bet I’ll be watching all of these.

liminal horrors, Backrooms and Exit 8supernatural horror Bunkum, and viral sensation Obsession They all come out in May and each one of them offers a different story. The variety on offer is excellent and there are plenty of original stories to dive into.

I have been excited by the marketing of Passenger so far, but with so much to offer, it’ll definitely have to keep working to stand out from the crowd when we’re inundated with horror movie trailers in the coming weeks.

The synopsis for Passenger jokes: “A few weeks into their van adventure, a young couple witnesses an accident that leaves the driver dead. Soon, they are pursued by an inescapable demonic stalker who follows them wherever they go.”

Passenger is playing on the fear of a demon clinging to his subject, literally becoming a “passenger”, with Scary stories to tell in the darkAndré Øvredal directs it. It definitely has the potential to be good, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
