- Anthropic has launched 10 new finance-specific AI agents
- You can also use Claude directly in Excel and other Office applications.
- Claude Opus 4.7 performs better than GPT-5.5 and Gemini 3.1 Pro
Anthropic has launched 10 pre-built AI agents for banks, insurers and other financial institutions to help speed up some of the most time-consuming tasks within the industry.
Available through several of the company’s offerings, including Claude Cowork, Claude Code, and Claude Managed Agents, these purpose-built agents are designed to be deployed in “days rather than months.”
The maker of Claude also used the announcement to remind financial workers that Claude is now available directly in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Anthropic launches purpose-built financial agents
Each of the 10 agents is made up of three separate elements: skills (a set of instructions), connectors, and subagents, which Anthropic describes as “additional Claude models that are used by the main agent, for specific subtasks such as selecting comparables or methodology checks.”
However, since the financial industry is so regulated, companies may also choose to modify and refine these agents to suit their own needs.
Available through the marketplace, five are intended to work on research and client coverage, and the other five are for finance and operations. Some highlights include a proposal creator agent, market research agent, and appraisal review agent.
Anthropic also described Claude Opus 4.7, the model that powers Excel’s new agents and connectors, as “the ultimate in financial tasks.” It scored 64.37% on the Vals AI Financial Broker benchmark, well ahead of GPT-5.5 (59.96%) and Gemini 3.1 Pro (59.72%).
As for the data Anthropic’s new financial players can access, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, PitchBook, Morningstar, Chronograph, LSEG and Daloopa are just a few of the “dozens of market data, research platforms and financial firm internal systems” accessed through real-time data connectors.
The new Claude agents are available on all Claude Cowork and Claude Code paid plans, but are still in public beta as managed agents for programmatic use.
