Star Fox 64 will have another remake, this time for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo has revealed a new star fox game based on Star Fox 64
It launches on June 25, 2026 and will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2.
It offers completely new visuals and a PvP multiplayer mode.

Nintendo has revealed a new star fox game for Nintendo Switch 2 and, yes, it is another one Star Fox 64 redo.

As confirmed last night in a surprise Nintendo Direct stream, the new game will simply be titled star fox and features enhanced visuals that have been rebuilt from the ground up, plus new character designs. Despite the new look, the stage layout will be the same as the original game.

In addition to the stories campaign, star fox will offer a challenge mode that introduces new objectives and challenges for players to tackle. There will also be a new battle mode, with two teams of four players facing off online.

As a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, it should come as no surprise that it supports many of the console’s exclusive features. This includes support for GameShare and the ability to talk to other players in battle mode via GameChat. The latter even gives you the option to appear as protagonist Fox McCloud or his team through a unique interactive avatar system that sees an in-game model that matches your expressions and movements.

In the campaign, you’ll also be able to take full advantage of the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls for better aiming.
