Security forces kill five terrorists in Tank, Dera Ismail Khan IBO’s: ISPR


He says four terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire in Tank; one was neutralized in operation DI Khan

Security forces killed five terrorists belonging to the ‘Indian-sponsored’ group. Fitna-al-Khwarij” in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the army’s media wing said on Friday.

The state uses the term Fitna al-Khawarij to refer to terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out between Wednesday and Thursday.

The first was carried out in the Tank area due to the alleged presence of terrorists.

The other IBO was carried out in Dera Ismail Khan district, where one terrorist was killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.

The ISPR added that arms and ammunition were also recovered and added that the slain terrorists were actively involved in numerous militant activities in the area.

“A sanitation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other kharji found in the area as the relentless anti-terror campaign under the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ vision (approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue in full swing to eliminate the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” he concluded.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operations.

President Zardari appreciated the professional ability of the security forces to eliminate the five terrorists.

“Operations against the scourge of terrorism must continue until its complete eradication from the country,” the president said, adding that successful actions against “Indian-backed terrorist elements” reflect the nation’s resolve.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the security forces were achieving great successes in the fight against terrorism.

“The entire nation stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces in this war against terrorism,” the prime minister said.

He added that the nation is united against terrorism and will not rest until its complete eradication from the country.

Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the security forces.

“The nation views the successes of Pakistan’s brave security forces with eyes full of appreciation. Operations will continue until the last Indian-sponsored terrorist and facilitator is eliminated,” he said.
