Entertainment reporter Kjersti Flaa has come forward with shocking allegations against Blake Lively, claiming that a 2016 interview with the actress left her “traumatized.”
talking to Page six On Monday, Flaa recalled the now-viral meeting for the film Coffee Societywhere she says the Gossip Girl The star clapped back after being congratulated on her pregnancy.
According to Flaa, when she mentioned Lively’s “little bump,” the actress awkwardly responded with “Congratulations on your little bump,” even though the reporter was not pregnant.
The situation reportedly went from bad to worse when Flaa tried to steer the conversation toward the film’s period costumes.
Lively apparently took issue with the question and asked if the male actors would be questioned about their clothing, before turning to her co-star Parker Posey for a private conversation.
Flaa says she was left sitting in silence while the two actresses effectively ignored her, an experience she described as feeling like they were plotting against her.
“I was in shock,” Flaa admitted, explaining that she felt unable to respond or leave the room for fear of being blacklisted by powerful Hollywood publicists.
He noted the intense “power dynamics” at play during celebrity trips, noting that journalists often have to accept bad treatment just to protect their future career opportunities.
For Flaa, frustration was heightened by the fact that she was expected to take the high road while being treated with what she felt was open hostility.
The resurfacing of this interview comes amid a turbulent period for Lively, who recently settled a high-profile legal battle with her. Finish with us co-star Justin Baldoni.
Flaa was actually named as part of that case, in which Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and he responded with a $400 million countersuit for defamation.
Although the case was settled last Monday without any money changing hands, Flaa said she had been “expecting to just find holes in everything” if she had been called to testify.
Ultimately, the journalist feels that a simple apology from Lively over the years could have changed everything.
