PlayStation 4 Users Who Have Wishlisted grand theft car 6 have started receiving messages urging them to upgrade to a PlayStation 5, suggesting that marketing for the game has officially begun.
As discovered by the ‘GTA 6 Countdown’ account (via Eurogamer), PS4 players are now receiving emails and messages suggesting they make the jump to PS5 in preparation for the game’s release later this year, as the game will only be available on current-gen consoles.
“Because you put it on the wish list grand theft car 6…grand theft car 6 It’s on your wish list. Get a PlayStation 5 today to be ready for when grand theft car 6 launches on November 19, 2026,” reads a message from Sony.
Some players apparently receive messages in different formats, and one of them comments that the user is a “top grand theft car 5 gamer!” before convincing them to buy a PS5, while others see them in the notification center of their console.

Gamers are convinced this means that marketing for Rockstar Games’ long-awaited title has finally begun following comments from Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick last month, and the game is on track for its November 19 release date.
It could also indicate that the game’s marketing campaign could become more prominent in the coming weeks, which could mean new trailers, trailers, and official gameplay in the lead-up to the game’s release.
It also seems that GTA 6 has been rated 17+ Mature by the ESRB, the US ratings board.
According to screenshots provided by the same account, the game will contain everything you would associate with a GTA game, which includes blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and drug and alcohol use.
GTA 6 will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S at launch. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that the game will not be coming to PC at launch, explaining that “Rockstar always starts on console because I think with respect to a release like that, you’re judged on serving the core audience.”
