- Chinese smartphone maker Honor teased the Trump Mobile T1 phone in a recent social media post.
- Suggests Trump Mobile product is “Chinese-made”
- Trump Mobile previously claimed that the device is made in the US, although it now only says that it was assembled there.
Smartphone maker Honor has suggested that the upcoming Trump Mobile T1 phone is “Chinese-made” in a fun new social media post.
The post appeared on the official Honor UK X account and mocks a recent announcement for the Trump Mobile device. The short Trump Mobile video, which appears to be at least partially AI-generated, showed off the flashy gold phone and was accompanied by a caption saying it will begin shipping this week.
“If you’re looking for a Gold phone made in China, may we suggest something a little more… premium?” Honor wrote in response to Trump Mobile’s post, completing its post with a cheeky winking emoji and an image of the brand. Honor Magic 8 Pro in its Sunrise Gold color.

Trump Mobile originally claimed that the T1 phone would be manufactured in the US, although references to this claim were removed from official branding some time after the device was first revealed in 2025.
Now, Trump Mobile’s website describes the phone as “formed by American innovation” and “American teams help guide the design and quality,” although it doesn’t actually specify where it’s made.
In a recent statement to PakGazette, Trump Mobile CEO Pat O’Brien said the product is “assembled in the US,” which is a much less ambitious claim but at least seems more feasible.
Trump Mobile has confirmed that the T1 phone features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50MP 2x telephoto lens, and a 5,000mAh battery.
It is also powered by the rather dated Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 SoC and runs on Android 15. Ouch.
These specifications have led to speculation that the T1 phone is simply a rebranded Wingtech Revvl 7 Pro 5G, which has a very similar spec sheet. The Wingtech Revvl 7 Pro 5G was originally launched in 2025 and is manufactured in China. It is now available in the US through T-Mobile.
