Darby Allin’s opponents line up and he takes them down, and that was proven again on All Elite Wrestling (AEW)’s “Collision” on Saturday night.

Sammy Guevara challenged Allin to a match for the AEW World Championship at Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor event. Guevara is one half of Ring of Honor’s tag team champions. He jumped into the world title fight as Allin looked set to face Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) at Double or Nothing next week in New York City.

Allin made five consecutive title defenses since winning the title against MJF. Defeated Tommaso Ciampa, Brody King, Kevin Knight, Pac and Konosuke Takeshita. Guevara became another number on Saturday.

When it comes to Allin and Guevara, fans expected there to be high-flying action even if it put both men in danger. Guevara placed Allin on a table and climbed a ladder, hoping to deal enough damage to keep his opponent down for good.

Guevara jumped from the ladder. But it was far from enough to push Allin away.

Allin survived a Spanish fly and avoided a 450 splash from Guevara off the top rope. Guevara crashed into a table. Allin rolled Guevara back into the ring and hit a Coffin Drop to put the challenger away.

Mark Briscoe makes an electrifying return

Mark Briscoe was back in AEW after being away for a few months, following an assault by Tomaso Ciampa.

He teamed with Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly, part of the faction known as The Conglomeration, to take on Lee Moriarty, Shawn Dean and Jay Triller, known as Shane Taylor Promotions, in a world trios title eliminator match.

Briscoe got the tag and the crowd in Sailsbury, Maryland went wild. He used a chair to eliminate all three of his opponents. He hit a Froggy Bow and a Jay Driller to pin Dean.

He will now turn his attention to Ciampa in a no-disqualification match on the next episode of “Collision,” airing Wednesday as part of a three-hour special with “Dynamite.”

Will Ospreay addresses Samoa Joe ahead of clash with Owen Hart

Will Ospreay will face Samoa Joe in the first round of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament as he looks to earn a shot at the AEW World Championship at All In.

Joe had been trying to keep Ospreay away from The Death Riders in recent weeks as Ospreay trained with the group to gain clearance to return to an AEW ring. Ospreay even seemed to have The Horsemen of Death in his corner as Joe sent Katsuyori Shibata and Anthony Bowens to attack him.

In “Collision,” Ospreay had words for Joe.

“Joe, I apologize for not responding to any of your messages, I’ve been a little busy training and preparing for Owen,” he said. “Surprise, surprise to see you there in the first round, buddy. It’s going to be tough, but if you can bear with me for a second while I explain. They took six months of my life, buddy. I’ve been sitting in front of a TV screen watching AEW, watching it, trying to get strength back in my arms, rushing back. You know, six months. Six months of frustration, six months of anger and then I finally had my shot at Dynasty and lost ever since, I’ve been fighting with my matches. The doctor even stopped one of them for my own safety. I’m upset that I didn’t get revenge on Jon (Moxley).

“But I’m more upset by the idea that I can’t be the guy that AEW once trusted. Regardless of how I feel about Jon, regardless of how I feel about The Horsemen of Death, there’s nothing I can say that will make people understand. But Jon Moxley, he’s the ace. He’s a soldier for this place and even though his methods may be sick, the people in front of him rise up. So what could happen with him in my corner?

“Joe, I have nothing but respect for you, for everything you’ve done in this industry. You were in the match that made me want to become a professional wrestler. But no one, no one is stopping me from winning the Owen. And I find it very poetic that the man who took my old life away from me has given me a second chance to capture the world championship.”
