The Islamabad High Court has ordered authorities to allow Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding president Imran Khan to talk to his children over the phone, Express News reported.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case relating to Imran’s requests for various facilities while in prison, including access to a personal doctor, meetings with his wife and phone calls with his children.
During the hearing, the court ordered that Khan’s wife and political leaders be allowed to visit him in accordance with jail rules. Additionally, a phone call to Imran’s children and medical treatment from his personal doctor were ordered.
The court also asked about the procedure for allowing visit of Khan’s wife, considering that she is now a convicted person, and sought clarification on the process for calls and medical treatment of his children.
The court directed the deputy jail superintendent to get clarification from the Adiala jail superintendent and provide a reply by Monday.
Imran’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry informed the court that despite earlier orders, some of the facilities granted had been revoked. He further sought permission to meet Imran immediately.
The case will be reviewed on January 27.

During a hearing on Monday, PTI chief counsel Faisal Chaudhry argued that the trial court had not addressed the issue of personal healthcare in its January 10, 2025 order, which the petition challenged.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq had directed a jail representative to appear personally in the next hearing scheduled for January 23.
