- Fans will be able to stream the film exclusively on YouTube Movies
- The film will be exclusive to YouTube and director Markiplier says he is “pretty loyal” to the platform.
Markiplier’s adaptation of iron lung was a huge success, with a box office gross of $51.2 million against a budget of $3 million. If you missed its limited theatrical release or just want to see it again, you’re in luck.
In an update video titled “Where the hell is iron lung…?” Markiplier acknowledged that four months have passed since he released the film, but he said that fans will be able to watch it on YouTube starting May 31.
Staying true to its roots, the film won’t be coming to any of the major streaming services and will instead be available to rent or buy on YouTube Movies.

What is Iron Lung about?
iron lung was an adaptation of an indie horror game by David Szymanski, a game Markiplier played on his channel and really enjoyed. It marks his directorial debut, with Szymanski starring in a cameo.
The premise is simple and takes place in a claustrophobic place. A convict named Simon is locked inside a submarine where he explores an ocean of blood, believed to contain vital resources needed to sustain human life after a catastrophic event called The Quiet Rapture. If you succeed in your mission, you will be granted freedom.
Sounds simple enough, right? Unfortunately, this ocean and the ship Simon pilots are much scarier than he could have imagined, leading to tense vigilance.
Although we primarily follow Markiplier as Simon, there is a great supporting cast including Troy Baker, Elle LaMont, fellow YouTuber jacksepticeye, and Rahul Kohli.
