De’Longhi’s new Pinguino air conditioner will keep you cool in any room and has launched just in time for the heat of early summer in the UK.

  • The Pinguino is up to 50% more efficient than some rival models
  • It has a silent mode to cool off before bed.
  • It’s on sale now for £999 direct from De’Longhi.

With our weather apps promising a hot holiday weekend and a hot summer just around the corner, De’Longhi couldn’t have picked a better time to launch a new premium portable air conditioner in its Pinguino range. The Pinguino GentleJet Inverter is a combination portable air conditioner and dehumidifier, and De’Longhi says it’s much more efficient than rival models.

Most homes in the UK were not built with the warm climate in mind: the focus was on keeping the heat in, not keeping it out. Portable air conditioners are a good solution for this, because they are generally much cheaper than installing air conditioning permanently. They’re also better for renters, because unlike fixed installations, you can take them with you when you move.

This new De’Longhi Pinguino is one of the most powerful laptops you can buy: Laptops typically produce between 7,000 and 9,000 BTUs, which is fine for small to medium-sized rooms. The Pinguino has 13,300 BTUs per hour, so it is also suitable for larger rooms.
