Rumors about a third trailer or possible delay for Rockstar Games’ most anticipated video game title have been running rampant for months, and thankfully, the answers are finally here.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, has reaffirmed this grand theft car 6is the November 19, 2026 release date in the company’s latest earnings report, and in an interview with Variety, it reiterated that marketing for the game will begin in the summer.
Notably, Zelnick previously expressed confidence that no further delays were on the cards, stating that Take-Two and Rockstar won’t give the green light or spend money on marketing “until we’re pretty close to launch.” With this in mind, it’s pretty safe to assume that the November 19 release date will be set in stone once marketing begins.
In the earnings report, Zelnick said, “We believe fiscal 2027 will set new record levels of operating performance driven by the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, along with strong execution across our portfolio.”
Outside of the call and earnings report, Zelnick effectively implied that marketing for GTA 6 won’t start until the end of June (which is when summer officially starts in the US), stating: “So in the next few weeks I don’t think it’s summer yet, but when it is summer, Rockstar hopes to start shipping GTA 6.”
With the delay and marketing rumors addressed, fans can now settle, essentially knowing when Rockstar Games will make its next move. In particular, this does not rule out the highly requested third trailer for GTA 6 will appear ahead of schedule in late June, especially with Sony’s PlayStation State of Play and Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest both in the first week of the month.
Regardless, there are likely to be plenty of big announcements about other gaming IPs that we can anticipate throughout June, and Rockstar Games GTA 6 Entering the fray at the end of the month is a perfect way to set the tone for the rest of 2026.
