Ethan Page came within half a second of pulling off an incredible upset over Penta and winning the Intercontinental Championship in Saturday night’s Main Event.
Penta showed Page, a former NXT Champion and the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion in brand history, that he needed to do more than a few hard shots and exposed turnbuckles to beat him.

Page gave Penta everything he had. He threw Penta into the exposed turnbuckle and tried to take advantage with a schoolboy roll up. As the referee attempted to re-set a turnbuckle, he noted Page’s pin attempt, but only made it to two. “Everything Ego” got upset and got in the referee’s face, allowing Penta to take advantage.
Penta avoided Page as he hit the ropes and bounced off the middle rope to hit a Mexican Destroyer. He pinned Page to win.

Penta has been champion since March 2, after he defeated Dominik Mysterio on “Monday Night Raw.” The victory over Page marked his seventh successful title defense, including a six-way ladder match at WrestleMania 42.
Page was impressive throughout the match. He threw Penta over his head and placed him on the announce table in the middle of the match. He returned to the ring, but realized that he would not be able to win the title if Penta was eliminated.
He stopped the referee’s 10 count and used the ring posts to his advantage before rolling Penta back into the ring. But the Mexican player was too difficult to handle.

Page was given the opportunity to face Penta over guys like Rusev and Je’Von Evans. Penta will have no shortage of rivals for his title as the weeks go by.

- Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab defeated. Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
- Sol Ruca defeated. Becky Lynch via DQ.
- Paige and Brie Bella (c) def. Lash Legend and Nia Jax will retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
- Logan Paul and Austin Theory defeat. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins will retain the World Tag Team Championship.
