The future king once again took on a key role, which has personal meaning for him as he paused all other commitments for this moment.
Prince William, who is not only a patron of the Football Association but is also an avid fan of the sport, made a surprise visit to St George’s Park as the England football team prepares for the 2026 World Cup.
In a video shared by Kensington Palace, William is seen arriving in Staffordshire as England “continues its preparations” for the upcoming tournament.
“The team behind the team is working hard to prepare the #ThreeLions for the tournament, on and off the field,” the message read.
William, who was recently seen celebrating Aston Villa’s victory in the Europa League final, gave an encouraging speech to the players, while also acknowledging the hard work of all the people working behind the scenes.
“You don’t get as much recognition or credit as you deserve. Not everyone can see all the hard work you put in,” he said. “Player success comes from the foundations you build, so thank you.”
He continued: “Everything is coming in a straight line now – the successes the Lionness have had, two Men’s Euro finals – we seem to be getting closer to that ambition. Go with my blessings and best wishes to all of you. Enjoy it, look after each other and do your best. I’m sure we’ll do well, so good luck.”
Looking at how passionate William is about the game, it seems like he dropped everything to be with the team. The message also comes as William was seen rejecting his wife Kate’s call while capturing highlights from the Aston Villa match in Türkiye.
Even if it was for a short time, the future king stopped all his plans and showed himself to be a true football fan.
