Kevin Knight did the unthinkable on Sunday at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Double or Nothing pay-per-view when he added insult to injury following Darby Allin’s world title loss.
Knight came out from behind and ran to the ring while Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) was celebrating an AEW World Championship victory over Allin in a hair vs. title match. Knight climbed to the top rope and hit a UFO Splash on Allin while he was strapped to a stretcher. Then he overturned the stretcher.
It was one of the most shocking things that happened during the show.

Knight addressed his actions during Wednesday’s “Dynamite” episode of AEW. The Philadelphia crowd was already full of animosity, chanting “Fuck you Kevin.”
“You know I shouldn’t expect anything less from you meathead idiots,” Knight began. “Since last Sunday, ‘The Jet’ has heard one word and one word only and that is ‘why?’ Have you been asking me why I did what I did last Sunday? Listen, I told Darby Allin not to let ‘The Jet’ down. I told him not to let them down. And guess what he did? He ruined it.
“You know what? Darby Allin, he blew it. Just like the Sixers did against the Knicks, he let us all down. Philadelphia, I’m with all of you. I’m on his side. He let us all down. I decided I wasn’t going to trust the process anymore. I decided I was going to take matters into my own hands and I did what I had to do. Let’s keep it high, let’s keep it a dollar, let’s keep it real, Who was the last person MJF was looking at? Who was the last person who humiliated MJF? Me, ‘The Jet’ So, with that said, it should have been me in the main event last Sunday. But instead, I was in the back, watching from the sidelines. Do I look like a bench player to you all?
Knight said he was no longer going to sit on the sidelines and was going to “take over this whole damn company.” He remembered what Allin told him when he first came into AEW: “Don’t waste your time.” He revealed a similar sentiment to Pak Gazette Digital in a recent interview.
He suggested he was simply doing what Allin told him to do and left him in a “puddle of his own blood.” He smiled as he remembered that moment.
Knight’s teammate, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, came out to address him. He said he heard what Knight was saying and knew how ambitious he was. He warned Knight not to get ahead of himself and make mistakes.
Bailey said Knight made a “mistake” by attacking Allin. He said it can be fixed if Knight apologizes. He reached out to hug Knight.
Instead, Knight punched him in the shoulder and hit Bailey with a clothesline. Knight made another move on Bailey before leaving the ring. It seemed like the Jet Speed duo was also no more.
Is it time for the Knight?
MJF World Title Celebration

MJF joined an exclusive club on Sunday when he achieved his third world title reign at the age of 30 when he defeated Allin for the AEW World Championship. On Wednesday he entered Philadelphia on a throne for his celebration.
MJF basked in the glory of beating Allin after losing the belt just a month prior. He reminded the crowd that only eight men have been world champions three times by the age of 30.
“They’re going to write about me in the history books,” he declared. “You’re going to be talking about me until the sun explodes. I really hope that you stupid, ignorant, worthless people are even remotely aware of how lucky you are, how truly lucky you are to be able to witness the greatness that is me in real time.
“You’re living in the greatest era imaginable and it’s the greatest era because it’s all about me. I’m a three-time, three-time, three-time world champion. The best wrestler in the world. The most complete professional wrestler in the world. No. 1, there’s no one around, a generational talent.”
Before fans had time to “bow down” to MJF’s greatness, Mark Briscoe came out to face the champion. He said MJF didn’t “fit in” in Philadelphia because he’s not tough enough. He reminded MJF that he pinned him not long ago and wanted a title shot.
MJF rejected Briscoe’s challenge because AEW was not only a sport, but also a business. And that it was “bad enough” that Allin was a champion. He laughed at the fact that Briscoe believed he was good enough to hold the AEW title.
“You’re nowhere near the devil’s level,” MJF said.
Rush, after winning their four-way match, also moved on to MJF. He called MJF a “chicken shit,” reminding MJF that he almost hit him too. MJF said if anyone earned a title shot, it was Rush. He asked Rush if he wanted to fight him for the title in Philadelphia and then took it from him. But he said there was a game next week.

While MJF had his own celebration, it was supposed to be a night of celebration for Adam Copeland and Christian Cage when they became the AEW Tag Team Champions. They were his first professional wrestling titles in 25 years after beating FTR at Double or Nothing.
Cage praised FTR, saying that they are “the best” and one of the best teams they have ever faced. But they are not at the top. Copeland said it was time to “live in the now.”
Copeland and Cage hit the right notes that fans were hoping for. They were going to do a five second pose for the benefit of those with flash photography. Copeland even brought out disposable cameras for the time being.
The moment, however, passed in an instant.
David Finlay and Clark Connors came out and attacked the tag team champions before the special moment could take place. They seemed to declare themselves the next to step forward and aim for the belts.
Owen Hart Tournament Update
Claudio Castagnoli and Brody King faced off in their quarterfinal matchup. The two big men went blow for blow and blow for blow. It was King who advanced on Castagnoli in a forceful affair. King advanced in the tournament and will face Swerve Strickland, who defeated Bandido at Double or Nothing.
It was a rematch between AEW National Champion Mark Davis and former AEW National Champion Jack Perry at the Owen Hart tournament. Both men were coming off a Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing, looking to continue their dreams of earning an AEW World Title shot.
Perry and Davis fought during the last 15 minutes of the show. He tried a knee, but Davis caught it and connected with a vicious clothesline. Perry came off a pin, but Davis continued his attack and eventually took the victory. Davis will face Will Ospreay in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Alex Windsor would face Willow Nightingale in the tournament before the TBS champion had to withdraw and relinquish her belt due to injury.
Windsor was asked about preparing for his wild card opponent. She said she had been preparing for her big moment her entire career and all she wanted was to be “the best” in women’s wrestling.
“I’m on my way to proving that when it comes to being the best in the world, Alex Windsor is part of that conversation. A path that ends exactly where it started: my home. It’s a path I’m not walking alone because my darling, my Billy (Will Ospreay), he’s chasing his Wembley dream and so am I,” he said. “So, wild card, whoever you are, you better have some stake in the game because my whole heart is in mine.”
Windsor will face his wild card opponent next week on “Dynamite.”
Samoa Joe takes some time off
Following his loss to Will Ospreay at Double or Nothing, Samoa Joe told his Opps brothers that he was stepping away for a while.
“Once again, opportunity knocks and Hollywood rings,” he told his team. “Gentlemen, I’ll be away for a few months. But you all know how this works. I hope you’ll hold it down.”
Hook and Anthony Bowens appeared to step forward at the same time to take Joe’s place, suggesting there will be some potential friction for the group.
