- Lego just revealed a new Sandcrawler set themed The Mandalorian Season 1
- The 1,683-piece set features a Sandcrawler with interactive elements.
- Includes Grogu, Mando, Jawas and Kuiil minifigures.
Along with the Millennium Falcon, the TIE Fighter or the AT-AT walker, the Sandcrawler is one of the most iconic vehicles in the vast Star Wars universe. And while we’ve seen plenty of Lego versions over the years, it’s been a while since the brick-building giant revisited the vehicle.
However, with The Mandalorian and Grogu Now on the big screen and with a host of new movie-themed products already available, Lego and Star Wars have teamed up for another set. And TechRadar can now exclusively reveal the Lego Star Wars Offworld Sandcrawler and Mudhorn set.
Even better, this Sandcrawler has a theme and details that match the same alien vehicle seen in season 1 of The Mandaloriangiving longtime fans of the Disney+ series a nostalgic throwback to some of Grogu and Mando’s earliest adventures.
The set is now available to pre-order directly from Lego for $199.99 / £179.99 / AU$329.99 and will ship in the coming weeks. For that price, you get 1,683 pieces to build the Sandcrawler, several accessories, a posable Mudhorn with its egg, and a handful of minifigures.
Included with the Lego Star Wars Offworld Sandcrawler and Mudhorn set are Grogu with a floating stroller, The Mandalorian, Kuiil, an elderly Offworld Jawa and two Offworld Jawa minifigures.
The Sandcrawler itself is well detailed and features some interactive elements, including some Technic-style components. By turning the rear dials, you can open or close the front hatch and you will build tracks that will allow you to move the vehicle.
It includes two stud shooters and you can access the cabin to place a minifigure inside. You’ll also build cargo boxes full of droid parts and even blue cookies for Grogu to eat. Doors and windows along the exterior sides of the Sandcrawler allow you to pose Jawas, Mando, or even Grogu mid-scene.
As the set’s name suggests, you’ll also build a Mudhorn from all 1,683 pieces, allowing fans to recreate one of the first memorable moments from season 1 of The Mandalorian.
With all of these elements together, fans of the Disney+ series can recreate iconic scenes with Mando, Grogu, Kuiil, and the Jawas. It’s certainly a nice addition, and for long-time Star Wars fans, it’s great to see Lego revisit one of the franchise’s most recognizable vehicles with a throwback to the first season of The Mandalorianwhich originally premiered in 2019.
